Xabi Alonso has a new partner in midfield. Terms of the transfer of Sami Khedira have been agreed with Vfb Stuttgart, but the terms of the transfer haven't been disclosed. The newspapers are speculating the transfer to be around €12-15 million.

Sami Khedira will undergo his medical at 12:00 CET on 31 July, then he will head off to Los Angeles to join the team on their USA Pre-Season tour.

Gutted for Stuttgart (clearly their best player along with Tasci) but excited for us ofcourse. Personally I still prefer having a traditional defensive midfielder for that role but Sami has done well for Stuttgart over the past three seasons even though he has played as left midfielder, attacking midfielder and the central box-to-box role he was made to play by Christian Gross last season.

But certainly a better option than Gago. I do not like Lass' attitude, so along with Mahamadou we can rotate Sami according to the situation and the opponent.

Whats important though is that we are signing rising stars now. Now please don't ruin the trend by getting that Maicon when we already have a World Cup winning and younger right back in the team, who will also be our vice captain next season.

  2. At last some love for Mahamadou, there are really pretty less people out on the internet who love that guy. I like the idea of Khedira & Mahamadou rotating, but it's up to Jose Mourinho.

Khedira'll be like Germany for us, sitting back, running around, winning balls, looking at the perfect moment to bomb in attack (and unlike Lass, he will be good in attack), I'm super-happy by just thinking about Xabi Alonso and his partnership.

I love the new trend of spending less, hope it continues. :)

Its not the spending less part that I like, but the spending wisely (wont be the case anymore if we still end up getting Maicon).
